piping gemmed material to CHAINS

Hi folks,

I have segments within transcripts as shown below my message. What I want to do
is pipe the gems to the chains command and to get chains WITHIN each episode.

When I try the command below the gem works fine but then the chains command
collapses across the episodes. The only solution I can think of is to rename
each episode something different and run a chain on each but that's an unwieldy
solution.

gem +d +s"episode" +t* +t%ds2 @ | chains +d +t%ds2 +c"[c]" (the c is to
capture clause level coding)

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you might provide. The list blocks
attachments but if a test file is needed I can send.
