fixed-width Unicode font

Dear ChiBolts,
For years, I have been looking for a good, affordable, fixed-
width Unicode TrueType font. The purpose of the fixed-width font for
TalkBank/CHILDES data is largely restricted to the coding of CA
(Conversation Analysis) data which requires good visual alignment of
overlaps and the length of drawled segments. We have built our own
fixed-width Unicode font called CAFont, but it is only useful for
Roman alphabets and it doesn't include many important symbols.
Last night, I finally found what I had been looking for. It is
called Ascender Uni Duo and it can be purchased and downloaded from www.fontmarketplace.com
for $29.95. It includes 56,000 characters, including most all of
Unicode. Use of this font is really only crucial for CA people and CA
transcripts, such as the Forrester data in CHILDES or many transcripts
in TalkBank. However, others may find that they like this font for
the way in which it allows good alignment of margins, data and so on.
I was tempted to post this note to info-childes too, but I am
trying to keep to the policy of keeping "technical" issues strictly
on chibolts.

Best wishes,
