tallying affixes

Dear Jamie,

My first reaction to this was to suggest that you use the new MORTABLE program which would do most of this automatically. However, it appears that MORTABLE is currently configured to only track the most frequent grammatical morphemes and doesn't track any of the prefixes at all. The nice thing about MORTABLE is that it is a simple one-line command (sort of a canned program)

mortable +u *.cha (try this on a set of files such as /MacWhinney or /Brown/Eve

which then produces an Excel spreadsheet that you can double click directly.

The bad part is that it doesn't seem to include all affixes. Of course, there are a LOT of possible prefixes and quite a few suffixes. So tracking all of them is going to be a really big spreadsheet. Perhaps Leonid could configure MORTABLE to allow a user to specify which specific affixes they wish to add to the search set. Hopefully he can chime in on this issue
