video files

Dear Florence,
Okay, now I see what you mean. These files do subscribe to the requirement of one transcript for each media file. However, in most of the cases (but not all), they appear to be just subsequent recordings on the same day. They have this format because that is how they were organized by the Lyon people. You are right that we could combine video and combine the files. And, if they had asked me how to break this up in the first place, I would have recommended using a single file for each day. The primary disadvantage of the current format is that it would make data analysis more clumsy. So, maybe we should merge them some day.
Your original question was about whether you could refer to two files on the @Media line and the answer there is "no". In terms of doing what the Lyon project did, I would recommend against it. Instead, you should create a single video for each day, particularly if the recording session was indeed continuous.

It has to work this way or the files would not pass Chatter and we continually run Chatter on the database to check for any divergences. I checked the Lyon files in /Romance/French/Lyon and they follow the one-transcript/one-media constraint. Did I miss something?

At CMU we found that the best procedure was usually to merge the video into one file using QuickTime Pro. All files in the database now follow this restriction.
