Question about the 'Silence' command

Many thanks for your help. I just tried what you suggested using my
data and the clip.cha file but I still can't figure out what's wrong.
I notice that a new file is created, now named clip-silent.aif, but I
can no longer hear the speakers. I will send you those files so you
can see what I mean.
