Why is +y now required to avoid splitting by speaker?

Kevin,

The reason for the change is to keep FREQ consistent  with other CLAN command like MLU. But, for backward compatibility FREQ has +o3 option that will give you old format results. As you have noticed it is not a good idea to use +y option with any CLAN commands when working with CHAT files.
