Question about Kideval

Shelley,

The "lib" folder should be set to "clan/lib/", not "clan/lib/kideval". The error message says that KIDEVAl can't find language file "eng.cut" in "CLAN/lib/kideval/kideval" folder. This is one level below where "eng.cut" file is actually located.

Normally you should set "lib" folder only once after you install CLAN for the first time. After "lib" folder is set correctly all CLAN commands will navigate that folder and go into its sub-folders, if necessary, to find all files they need to run correctly. You don't need to change "lib" folder again. The reason this folder is not hardwired into CLAN is because some people like to have that folder located outside CLAN root installation folder, so that during CLAN update the files in their special lib folder will not be overwritten. But, once you locate your favorite "lib" folder and set it in CLAN you shouldn't need to change it again.

The "mor lib" folder, however, needs to be change every time you work with different language grammar. In your example you have set your "mor lib" folder correctly.

Leonid.
