excluding unrelated lines from a picture description task

Hi,

I am currently coding language samples consisting of picture descriptions
from patients with frontotemporal dementia (e.g., PPA). Is there a way to
mark lines that you don't want to be included in the analysis? For example,
sometimes the participant will direct a question/statement to the
investigator and it is not related to the picture description. I want to
transcribe these lines, but don't necessarily want to include them in an
analysis.

Thanks,

Mara
