comment lines in cut files?

Dear Brian,
      Files in .cut format are treated by FREQ as basically open text with the +y switch.  If you want to insert comments and such you should be using regular .cha format instead.

Subject: comment lines in cut files?

I wanted to add some annotations to a cut file so that I could explain the groupings of words that I am searching right within the cut file.  Is there a way to add comment lines to cut files that the program will ignore when running, for example, a freq command using that cut file?
