Thank you for your feedback. I am afraid that the software may not work
for me then. I did read in the description of the program that there is
some training involved to get the software to "learn" your voice. Given
that I have several different dyads, and
that dyads contain mothers and their young children, it seems unlikely
that the program would have the level of accuracy needed to make this
worthwhile. Thank you for your explanation.<br>

I always try each new version of Dragon Naturally Speaking in hopes that it may be good enough to<br>
help in the transcription task. Each version gets a bit better, but so far the only type of speech for which I<br>
have found it to yield adequate transcripts is broadcast news and sometimes lectures. For lectures, one must still train the software to the speaker. If you speakers are articulating with great precision and if they all share a<br>
common dialect and audio range, then there may be some possible saving of time. Otherwise, not.<br>
In terms of compatibility with specific recorders, that is not an issue, because you will be running off computer<br>
files. In terms of compatibility with CLAN, you would need to use the TEXTIN program to convert the sentences from<br>
the Dragon output to CHAT.<br>
If this actually ends up working for you, please tell us.<br>
