Every time I try to send this I get errors.
What address should I be sending it to?

Could you forward it to the list for me because I can't get there
from here. B^(

Michael and I just got back from the conference, and he and I came
    up with some ideas.

Maybe the conference needs to be organized differently: it
might be worth considering holding separate sections, or even
separate conferences for advanced speakers of Grand Ronde and
linguists, a section for intensive teaching of jargon, and a
section for speakers of more generic jargon (which I'll call
    "ahnkuttie" to distinguish from GR).

When not at the conference, a lot of people use ahnkuttie
materials like Pasco and Gibbs as references. Then, when we get to the
conference, we're lost. Grammar is a bear, and some of the "sitkum
words" require, as we sailors say, "serious local knowledge." B^)
Scheduling must be done so as to make it possible for people to
attend both GR and ahnkuttie gatherings.

The most important focus has been, quite rightly, on the GR language
program. Whatever we do, we must do nothing at all that impedes
or disrupts that work, or related studies.

When we left the conference, we didn't really have enough new knowledge
for it to be useful, so we lose it because we can't use it. Having
an intensive teaching track would allow us to develop useful
proficiency, maintain it, and be better participants the next year.

The works in progress by Henry, Tony, and Jim were very good.
We felt that we couldn't give the requested feedback because we
didn't know enough to give useful insights. Something we noticed
was that the more advanced speakers, who had useful insights,
didn't get a chance to give their insights because we and other
beginners wound up using the allotted time for beginner level
    questions.

We really enjoyed the presence of Ila, Bernice, and Dan.
Hearing elders was very inspirational, useful and FUN! I'd like
to thank them again. Could we invite more elders next year from
    Canada, Yakima, Puget Sound, etc?

I personally feel that the conference could use more workers.
Tony, Jim, Dave and Henry can't do everything; it might be good
to delegate some of the simpler things, like notebook assembly,
to some of us folks. I for one would be willing to come up
    early to help set up.
