Khanawi-lhaksta,

There is an article titled "Mystery Man" in the _Pacific Northwest Inlander_ (Spokane, WA) of June 21-27, 2001, pages 7&9, based on James Chatters' new book "Ancient Encounters: Kennewick Man and the First Americans". The article was written by editor Ted S. McGregor Jr., and includes the following about a human skull that's been found to resemble the 'Kennewick Man' skeletal remains from 9000 years ago:

"Stick Man, as they named him, proves that there were more of this group..."

Does any of you know how this name was chosen? I'm supposing a remote possibility of a Chinook Jargon connection, but don't expect this to be confirmed.

Dave
