  sno "snow" is used for winter and thus for year, exactly like kol (ixt kol "1 year" etc.)
  I have already seen "sno" meaning "year" in one of Le Jeune's publications (in "Chinook Rudiments", or in "Chinook and shorthand rudiments", one of these two).
   
  As Anthony already wrote, lamiaii "old woman" is attested in all versions of Chinook Jargon (variants: lamiyay, lamyey, lammieh, lammii, lummieh, lummi, lemeyi, labielle, lebya) and is considered to come from French "la vieille".
