Jeff.........
Thanks for that. I've read quite a bit of his stuff. and attended a
lecture, which was funnier than hell. He may be as good a stand up
comedian as he is an author. I must admit, however that I don't care
much for his poetry. That's my fault. I'm uneducated and fail to
understand poetry that doesn't rhyme.
I went to a panel of western authors several years ago at the
Seattle library. Each had a twenty minute allotted time to say a few
words. I had only heard of the guy at that point in time and had yet
to read any of his stuff. I thought it would all be about white guy
bashing, but I was pleasantly surprised when his first words were, "
I love America. I love America because it has libraries and we can go
there and read and learn, etc, etc."
I have liked him ever since that night.
My favorite book by him was entitled "Indian Killer", a somewhat
dark novel, but he described all the parts of Seattle that I am
familiar with, that is, the seedier sections from my drinking days.
He also spoke about working construction on high buildings and did
quite well, leading me to think that he may possibly have some
experience.
Hope your health is better and your outlook is positive.
I appreciate everything you have done.
Duane
