Another pidgin

Hi Dave: Schuchardt did report a mixed Spanish-English pidgin with some Portuguese elements spoken on Fernando Poo at some point in the late 19th century. This could be something similar. The first linguistic work on Kikongo was done by Spaniards, too

Those of you who know some French, Portuguese or Spanish might find this
interesting.

I picked up a book edited by Dore' Ogrizek, "South and Central Africa" (New
York: McGraw Hill, 1954), and on page 17 spotted this bit of obvious pidgin
reported by the Marquis de Compiegne as spoken by N'Combe at the confluence
of the Ogoue' and the N'Gounie:

"Miare N'Combe, rey pas [sic] todos, rey sobre todos, roi, king, king,
kingman." (I am N'Combe, king of all, king over all, king, king, king man)
