TRACTOR is pleased to announce the availability of the corpus analysis
program Qwick, written by Oliver Mason, in a special version for the
TRACTOR User Community. As well as the program, users can download
corpora from the archive ready indexed for use with Qwick.

The following indexed corpora are available:
- German Parole Corpus (24 million words);
- Slovene Multext-East Corpus (0.5m);
- Polish Pelcra corpus (2m);
- English Free Britain Corpus (2m);
- Serbian News Corpus (1.3m).
See the catalogue at www.tractor.de for more details on the composition,
markup and provenance of these corpora, which were provided by different
members of the TRACTOR User Community.

In order to access these resources you need to be a member of the
TRACTOR User Community. To join, fill in the user agreement form
(available on the website) and then pay the annual administrative fee
of 50 euros (20 euros to Central and Eastern European countries). If
you want to deposit some resources in the archive, you can join for
free, so this method is recommended! Users have free, unlimited
access to all the resources. See http://www.tractor.de/faq.htm
for more information on TRACTOR.

To find Qwick, go to the 'Catalogue of Tools', following the link from
the TRACTOR home page, and follow the links to QWICK (the full URL is
http://www.tractor.de/telri/BIR/tools/qwick).  We will index and
make available many more corpora in the New Year.

You need Java to run Qwick. Java v.1.3 for Windows and Linux can
also be downloaded from the same directory as Qwick.
