Corpora: language engineering

According to my point of view, it should include everything concerning language
understanding, language learning (from corpora, for instances),   linguistic
behaviour planning, language generation and control over speech acts, their
effects and the relation with the expected effects. Probably other areas should
be included. We should not forget that speech and Machine translation should
also be part of the whole cake but then comes also information retrieval (not
the whole part of it) and Cross language information Retrieval and....
