Corpora: Chomsky and corpus linguistics

Stated with the arrogant dismissiveness that only Chomsky can muster. I
once heard him tell a very large audience, in response to the question:
"What do you think of communication research?" that there was "no such
thing." For such a brilliant guy, it's too bad he never learned to play nice.
