[Corpora-List] BNC WE - problem with registering a subcorpus

Dear List members,

Much as I have been trying to register subcorpora of the BNC WE,
using both the single-machine installation and the server-client
system, my attempts invariably end in failure. The DOS and Unix
Register programs both return these messages:

"Lemma scheme null"
and
"segmentation fault"

Has anyone else encountered the problem? Google has failed to bring
up a solution, and I have not been a member of the bnc-discuss to see
if the list's archive would have something.

I will gratefully await any recipes for fixing my problem.
