AMS, a leader in global consulting and information technology, has NLP and text processing development positions available in its Fairfax Virginia location near Washington D.C. in the U.S.. The positions will involve research and development in areas such as named-entity extraction and "knowledge base" development.

Current US Government Top Secret clearance with full scope polygraph required.

Position Description
Programmer Analyst or Linguist with text processing or natural language processing NLP experience and 1-3 years programming experience.  Primary role will be text extraction researcher/designer/developer.  Text extraction responsibilities would include: "knowledge base" development and tuning within a pattern-matching text extraction (Aerotext) environment, text extraction integration design/development, and continuing support for all text extraction activities.

Additional responsibilities would possibly include development of enhancements to Visual Basic application, often involving requirements gathering, meeting with customer, designing a prototype and presenting the design, developing the accepted design, thoroughly testing the enhancement and aiding in implementing the enhancement.
