I can see you all feel passionately about this, but I wonder if you could take the debate off-line or continue it elsewhere? It seems a bit distant from the main focus of interest for this group, i.e. corpora. Perhaps taking the debate to an MT mailing list might be a better idea than continuing it here?  Best,
