Recital 2006, the student conference associated with TALN, will be held 
in Leuven (Belgium) from 10 to 13 April 2006. Récital is intended for PhD
students or researchers having recently obtained a Ph.D in the field of 
natural language processing.

Recital aims to provide young researchers with a opportunity to meet, 
present their research and compare their approaches. This conference has 
its own program committee which consists of experienced researchers and 
young doctors who got their PhD in the last year.

THEMES

1. Lexical databases containing morphological, syntactic, semantic 
       and/or phonological information
2. Analysis, generation and lexis in the following fields:
         - Phonetics and phonology
         - Morphology
         - Syntax
         - Semantics
3. TAL Applications
         - Text analysis
         - Text summarization
         - Text generation
         - Human-computer interface using natural language
         - Machine translation
         - Information retrieval
         - Computer-aided language learning
4. Logical, symbolic and statistical approaches


IMPORTANT DATES

Submission deadline: 19 December 2005
Notification to authors: 23 January 2006
Camera-ready: 2 February 2006
Conference: 10-13 April 2006

SELECTION CRITERIA

Authors (PhD students and young doctors who got their PhD in the last 
year) are invited to submit papers describing original, completed, and 
unpublished work. Papers will be evaluated by at least two reviewers. 
The criteria mainly taken into account will be: 

     - the importance and originality of the contribution 
     - the scientific and technical correctness of the work 
     - the comparison with related works 
     - the organisation and the clarity of the presentation 
     - the relevance of the work to the main topics of the conference 

The selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings by 
Louvain University Press. The proceedings will be given to participants 
at the begining of the conference.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The submissions must be emailed as an attachment to the organising 
committee (recital at tedm.ucl.ac.be) before December 19 2005. The email 
must contain the title of the paper, the first author's name, 
affiliation, postal & electronic address and telephone & fax.

Joint submission of the same paper to both TALN and Récital is not 
allowed. However, one can be author/co-author of another paper presented 
at TALN.

SUBMISSION FORMAT

The submitted paper must not exceed 10 pages using Times 12 and single 
spacing, figures, examples and references included (roughly 3,000 words). 
The proposals for posters must not exceed 3 pages. 

All the papers must be in A4 Format (and not US Letter). The stylesheets 
(LateX & Word) will soon be availlable on the conference web site.
