Engineering Research Associate, Stanford Natural Language Processing Group

The Stanford NLP Group seeks a research associate to define and carry out 
research in the area of broad-domain textual learning, understanding and 
inference. Topics of particular interest include learning word and phrase 
meanings and world knowledge from texts; robust interpretation of and 
inference over event relationships, statements, and questions; and 
development of natural language analysis components required for these 
tasks. Candidates should be familiar with various aspects of machine 
learning applied to NLP and work in natural language understanding. The 
Stanford NLP Group is a fun, collaborative group providing many 
opportunities for hands-on research and teamwork. See

Required Qualifications:

An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a relevant field. Candidates for the 
position must be able to formulate, direct, and carry out innovative 
research within the fields of textual learning, understanding, and 
inference; to work effectively with students and other project members; and 
to discuss, communicate, and present project ideas and results, both 
internally and externally.
