[Corpora-List] Senior Appointments (to Chair level) in Computing, Leeds University

The School of Computing is looking to appoint an impressive individual 
to a Senior Lecturer, Reader or Chair role in Computing, in
order to continue and extend its successful development.
This individual will be expected to develop and sustain a research
programme of international excellence and to participate in
both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. They will be required to
disseminate their research findings by producing first
author and coauthored papers for publication in the world's most
prestigious research journals, and through presentations at
international conferences. An ongoing track record of research income
generation will be expected. Interaction and collaboration with 
colleagues across the University will also be strongly encouraged.
The successful candidate will be required to have a significant track
record of achievement within the field of computing and
a background of high quality publications and academic leadership
relating to one of the School's core research themes,
combined with a rich experience in Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer
and industrial collaboration. A particular research interest in 
the area of WWW, Visualization or Theory would be highly desirable.

Based within the Faculty of Engineering, the School of Computing at the
University of Leeds has been at the forefront of the emergence and
development of computer science as a discipline for over 50 years. The
2008 Research Assessment Exercise confirmed its place as one of the Top
Ten computing departments in the UK, and identified it as the leading
such department in the North East of England. The School excels in
research in Artificial Intelligence, Biological Systems and
Computational and Systems Sciences. Over 80% of its work is confirmed as
internationally excellent and world-leading (3* or 4*).

The successful candidate will be appointed to a level that is fully
commensurate with their academic calibre and experience.
