B.A.A.L. / Cambridge University Press Seminar Programme 2010
"Using corpus evidence in the classroom: working with teachers and learners"
University of Birmingham UK
June 24th - 25th 2010

Invitation to participate

This two day event, sponsored by the British Association for Applied
Linguistics and Cambridge University Press, will bring together
researchers and practitioners who have experience and interest in the
use of corpus approaches with language learners and teachers.

The principal aims of the event are:
1. To facilitate dialogue between researchers and practitioners who have
experience and interest in the use of corpus approaches with language
learners and teachers.
2. To share insights from research and experience, identifying shared
and contrasting approaches, successes and challenges.
3. To consolidate shared awareness of existing findings from research
and identify areas for further investigation, and the potential for
collaboration in undertaking such research.
4. To identify the kind(s) of publication which would be of most benefit
to this constituency, and explore how such publications may be developed.

Cost: Participants will contribute a small fee for attendance at the
seminar (£50, with a reduced fee for students and unemployed of £25),
which includes daytime subsistence (i.e. lunch and tea/coffee) but not
the one evening meal. Participants will also need to arrange their own
travel and overnight accommodation. Details of options for accommodation
