Corpus Collection Project Co-ordinator
12 month contract
£22,379 - £24,101 per annum 

Cambridge University Press and Cambridge ESOL are leading a project, 
supported by the University of Cambridge, to develop a better 
understanding of the English language skills needed by students at 
universities where English is a medium of instruction.

Central to the project is the building of a very large collection of 
samples of language use (a corpus) from a wide range of students, native 
speakers, expert non-native speakers, and learner non-native speakers, in 
a range of typical academic contexts from 6th form through under/post 
graduate and post doctoral levels.

We are seeking someone to manage this collection.

As the Project Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for assisting in 
planning the collection, making contacts in various academic institutions 
with potential contributors, setting up arrangements to collect the data 
and also for processing of the data.  You would also be responsible for 
arranging and minuting meetings, writing progress reports and any other 
related administrative work.

The successful candidate will have a (preferably language related) degree 
as well as administrative or project management experience and preferably 
knowledge of one or more of the following fields: Corpus Linguistics; 
Applied Linguistics; TEFL teaching.

You should also possess:
·        outstanding organisational skills
·        the ability to communicate well with a wide range of people 
including senior academics in universities
·        first rate IT skills and the willingness to learn new programs
·        the ability to work on your own initiative
·        meticulous attention to detail
·        the ability to set up systems and procedures

The role will require occasional travel to universities around the UK.
