Theme: TEACHING AND LEARNING WITH CORPORA: USING CORPUS LINGUISTICS TO
FACILITATE AND UNDERSTAND THE EDUCATION PROCESS

Where: Oxford Brookes University

When: Saturday, June 23rd, 2012

Following on the success of the first two Corpus Linguistics in the
South meetings (Portsmouth and London), the next Corpus Linguistics in
the South workshop will take place at Oxford Brookes University on
June 23rd, 2012.

We invite the submission of abstracts for paper presentations
addressing the relevance of corpus linguistic methods and materials
for educational issues, including but not limited to:

- corpus-based research in academic literacies
- L2 and learner corpora
- using corpora in the classroom
- linguistic and multimodal corpora in teacher training
- computer-assisted language learning
- corpus evidence in education and public outreach
- corpora and educational policy

There will be five or six 30-minute presentations leading to group
discussions and one round table discussion open to all participants.

In keeping with prior Corpus Linguistics in the South events,
participation in the workshop is free. Participants are welcome to
join an inexpensive group lunch. Please be aware that the number of
places is limited, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served
basis. Expressions of interest should be sent to Alon Lischinsky
(alischinsky [AT] brookes [DOT] ac [DOT] uk).

Paper proposals will be accepted until May 7th. The full programme and
details will be announced on May 14th.
