Lexical Computing Ltd (LCL) is a small research company working at the
intersection of linguistics, technology and dictionary-making.  Its strap
line is 'corpora for all'.   It has a leading corpus query tool, the Sketch
Engine, incorporating ‘word sketches’, one page corpus-driven summaries of
word’s grammatical and collocational behaviour.  Customers include Oxford
University Press, Cambridge University Press, Collins, Cornelsen and Le
Robert and around 100 universities.

*The Job *is to sell the Sketch Engine to universities and language schools
in the UK and throughout Europe.  The role involves

   - developing comprehensive knowledge of LCL services including the
   Sketch Engine
   - preparing and implementing a strategy to maximise sales to
   institutional customers
   - managing and developing relationships with  JISC-collections (
   http://www.jisc-collections.ac.uk) and similar organisations in other
   European countries
   - representing LCL at relevant conferences and workshops and giving
   presentations

You will be based at home, with extensive UK and European travel

*Salary:*  £23,000 per annum + commission, with on-target earnings of
£45,000, uncapped

*Requirements*
·         Degree
·         Demonstrable sales track record
·         Knowledge of linguistics: you will be selling to linguistics
professors.  You need to be able to describe the structure of an English
sentence
·         Native speaker or with near-native-level fluency in English
·         Right to live and work in UK

*Desirable*
Experience of
·         sales to Universities
·         social networks, in a sales context
·         linguistics research
·          language teaching
 Knowledge of other languages (the more the better), also of corpus
linguistics
