Dear All,

This is to announce that FarsNet 2.0 is now released and is available
to download for research purposes.
FarsNet is the name of the First Persian WordNet, developed by NLP
research Lab of Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran and funded by
Iran Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC).

FarsNet 2.0 has more than 30.000 entries organized in about 20.000
synsets.
in this version there are inner- and inter- POS relations among both
senses and synsets.
most of the synsets are mapped to synsets in Princeton WordNet by equal
or near-equal relations.
FarsNet 2.0 includes the argument structure of about 200 simple Persian
verbs so it contains something similar to verbnet too.

FarsNet packages are available at

nlp.sbu.ac.ir/farsnet

two versions of FarsNet, v.1.0 and v. 2.0 can be accessed via this
address.
FarsNet 1.0 (the older version) which includes about 10.000 synsets,
just inner-POS relations and no argument structures is open to any
registrant for research purposes.

FarsNet 2.0 (the new version) is available to faculty members of
universities or other research organizations for research purposes.

please do not hesitate to contact me if you find any problem in
accessing the package.
any comment about the content and probable errors are welcome.

Regards
  Mehrnoush Shamsfard,
Head of FarsNet team,.
