Further to my last message, there's also the online dictionary LEO,
which was originally created by the Technische Universität München but
is now operated by an independent company, LEO GmbH:
<http://dict.leo.org/esde/index_de.html>  According to the terms of use
you might need advance permission from LEO GmbH if you want to write a
tool to automatically query the dictionary.
