[Corpora-List] Research Assistant Position at NTU Computational Linguistics, Singapore

The NTU Computational Linguistic Group is looking for suitable
candidates to fill the following position:


Research Assistant

One position is available in the research area of computational
semantics.  The research assistant would be responsible for creating
and checking instances of new semantic types in English, Chinese and
Japanese lexicons, learning transfer rules between these languages
(using and extending existing tools), as well as annotating corpora
where needed.  In addition to overall project coordination, the
project officer would be responsible for basic data management and
back up.  The initial appointment is for a period of one year starting
on or after February the 4th 2014, with possible extension for another
two years. The candidate will join at the rank of Research Assistant,
with a starting monthly salary of around S$2,700, depending on
qualifications and experience. A candidate should possess a good
honors degree or equivalent in computer science, linguistics or a
related discipline. Strong programming skills and good command of
English (both spoken and written) are required, as well as some
knowledge of Japanese. Knowledge of Chinese is desirable.  Candidates
interested in pursuing research leading to a PhD degree in linguistics
with specialization in computational linguistics are especially
encouraged to apply.
