*Announcing the Excitement Open Platform for Textual Inference!*

We present the EXCITEMENT Open Platform (EOP), a general open source
architecture for textual inference, which provides a toolbox with
state-of-the-art semantic technology for recognizing textual entailment
(RTE). The EOP was designed and implemented with the complementary
experience of four academic institutions, and was demonstrated at ACL 2014.

*Main Features*

   - Implementations of state-of-the-art methods for textual entailment.
   - Modular design, including: preprocessing pipeline, entailment
   algorithms, and knowledge resources.
   - Multilingual support, including tools for creating new resources in
   any language.
   - End-to-end entailment systems configured in English, German, and
   Italian.

*Usage Types*

   - As a semantic processing "black box" inside NLP applications, without
   any implementation effort.
   - As a research platform for textual inference.
   - As an educational platform for teaching data-driven computational
   semantics.
