CLiC-it, Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics, is a new event aiming to establish a reference forum for research on Computational Linguistics of the Italian community. CLiC-it covers all aspects of automatic language understanding, both written and spoken, and targets state-of-art theoretical results, experimental methodologies, technologies, as well as application perspectives, which may contribute to advance the field.

The spirit of the Conference is inclusive. In the conviction that the complexity of language phenomena needs cross-disciplinary competences, CLiC-it intends to bring together researchers of related disciplines such as Computational Linguistics, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Knowledge Representation, Information Retrieval and Digital Humanities.

The first edition of CLiC-it, CLiC-it 2014, will be held in Pisa on December 9-10 2014, and it will be co-located with EVALITA 2014, the fourth edition of the evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and Speech tools for Italian. CLiC-it will provide additional opportunities to discuss research aspects related with EVALITA, as well as new tasks and new evaluation methodologies.

Early registration closes on Friday, 31 October 2014 and online registration closes on Friday, 28 November 2014. Beyond that date, only on-site registration at the conference registration desk will be possible (the only payment method will be by cash).

CLiC-it, la prima Conferenza di Linguistica Computazionale Italiana, è un nuovo evento finalizzato alla creazione di un forum di riferimento per la discussione delle ricerche della comunità italiana di Linguistica Computazionale. CLiC-it copre tutti gli aspetti legati al Trattamento Automatico della Lingua (TAL), sia scritta che parlata, ed è aperta tanto a riflessioni teoriche e metodologiche, quanto alla proposta di tecnologie e prospettive applicative innovative, in grado di fornire un contributo significativo a questa area di ricerca.

Lo spirito della conferenza è inclusivo. Nella convinzione che la complessità dei fenomeni linguistici richieda competenze interdisciplinari, CLiC-it vuole riunire ricercatori provenienti da discipline intimamente connesse quali la Linguistica Computazionale, la Linguistica, le Scienze Cognitive, l'Apprendimento Automatico, l'Informatica, la Rappresentazione della Conoscenza, l'Information Retrieval e le Digital Humanities. 

La prima edizione di CLiC-it, CLiC-it 2014, si terrà a Pisa il 9-10 Dicembre 2014, e sarà condivisa con EVALITA 2014, la quarta edizione della campagna di valutazione di strumenti per il Trattamento Automatica della Lingua italiana scritta e parlata. CLiC-it fornirà ulteriori possibilità di discussione tanto degli aspetti di ricerca legati ad EVALITA, quanto di nuovi problemi e di nuove metodologie di valutazione.
