<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Dear Corpora colleagues, Thank you
for your time and attention in advance. I use my corpora of 157 world
languages to study phonetic phenomena in language in general, that is a sort of
phonological universal. What is sonority profile in a language? I read in a
book that sonority is greater at the end of the word. However, I have discovered
it is not so simple. After computing about 30 languages I noticed that some
languages really use the sonorant consonants like [m, r, l, n, etc.] more
frequently than at the beginning of the word. These are usually Turkic
languages.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> However, there are some languages whose

greater. These are usually Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic languages. I am very
interested in reading an article or a book which publish the
data on the topic. I use math statistics in my studies of the frequency of
occurrence phonemes in the speech sound chains of
world languages.</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm modeling
phonological typology </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>from a cognitive
perspective, I have been working on math linguistics now for some
time. I'd like to find people who'd work on a joint project with me in the field
of math linguistics and linguistic typology. Looking forward to hearing from you
