<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV class=RTE>Dear all,</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>here's a summary of the responses I received related to literature on "computers and motivation":</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>1. Pascual Cantos did his phd on the effects of call materials on students' motivation(1993) and offered to send me the paper, which is in spanish.</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>2. Dragos Ciobanu suggested to take a look at specialist journals, such as Computer Assisted Language Learning, Computers in Human Behaviour, Computers & Education, System, as well as proceedings of conferences such as EuroCALL. Among the authors he recommended are Carol Chapelle, Jozef Colpaert, Jan Plass, Dorothy Chun, Lars Borin and Volker Hegelheimer. </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>I had already searched these journals before posting the query, but did not find much on this particular subject.</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>3. Linda Bawcon also suggested the following site: <A href="http://iteslj.org/links/TESL/CALL/">http://iteslj.org/links/TESL/CALL/</A></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>as well as an article she wrote while in Madrid: "The Affective Factor of Using E-mail with Students-Modern". English Teacher-July 2002</DIV>
