The LTA/ILSP group conducts basic and applied research in the field of
Natural Language Processing; its main aim is to design computational
models for
natural language recognition and understanding. In particular, LTA has
expertise in building digital monolingual, multilingual and multimedia
corpora,
and in developing technologies for text processing and analysis and
multimodal
and multilingual information processing and retrieval. One of the
on-going
strands of research within the LTA group is the computational modelling
of semantic
relations between language and sensorimotor representations (visual and
motoric, images and body movements/gestures respectively) in everyday
interaction, for a range of Artificial Intelligence applications. Both
advertised posts are associated to this strand of research and in
particular,
to the newly funded FP7 project <a
href="http://www.ilsp.gr/poeticon_eng.htm">POETICON</a>,
which starts in January 2008 and will last for three years. <o:p></o:p></span>
