The simple form suggests that the reproach was intended as a 

generalisable one: "you (always) lie". Still, it was placed at some 

particular point of Obama's speech - his assertion that illegal immigrants would 

not benefit from health care reform - and hence, the general verdict "you 

(always) lie" was prompted by that particular portion of the 

discourse. Seen thus, it can be interpreted as discourse deixis.</DIV>
