<br>
</div><div>June 3-4, 2010</div><div><br></div><div>Created in 1998, the Rencontres Jeunes Chercheurs (RJC) of</div><div>the Doctoral School - Langage et langues - (ED 268, Sorbonne Nouvelle</div><div>University – Paris 3) is an opportunity for junior researchers</div>
<div>preparing for a Master's degree or a Doctorate, but also for</div><div>post-doctorates, to present their work in paper or poster sessions.</div><div><br></div><div>This year, for the 13th edition of the RJC, the theme will be : </div>
<div><br></div><div>Language in use</div><div><br></div><div>The notion of language in use in linguistics is undoubtedly located at</div><div>the intersection of what F. de Saussure distinguished by terms Langue</div><div>
and Parole. Since the use of the language represents both the way</div><div>speakers use the language as a means of communication and particular</div><div>utterances of various kinds, it is relevant to study language practice</div>
<div>of speakers who come from the same language community.</div><div><br></div><div>To this notion of use, the notion of norm is frequently associated. It</div><div>is the norm, commonly found in grammar books, that leads to the</div>
<div>definition of variation.</div><div><br></div><div>The scientists are to ask questions like: What is the language in use</div><div>of various speakers? Is there a development in the language in use?</div><div>What influences the language in use of interlocutors? Is it</div>
<div>the sociocultural environment and political factors? Which are the</div><div>real world communicative functions? Which are noticeable interferences</div><div>between the norm and its variations? How do children acquire language</div>
<div>in use? </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>This topic can be treated differently in various linguistic fields:</div><div>language acquisition, text analysis, linguistic methodology,</div><div>historical linguistics, morpho-syntax, phonetics, semantics,</div>
<div>socio-linguistics, etc.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Submission</div><div><br></div><div>Proposals for oral presentations should be typed in Times New Roman</div><div>12, simple spacing, in the form of a summary of 1000 words at most</div>
<div>(including references) and the proposals for posters in the form of a</div><div>summary of 500 words (including references). In the case of phonetic</div><div>transcriptions, please use the SILDoulos font</div><div>
