is offering a graduate position in the field of “Statistical Machine Translation”.
Research Activity:
the research will be conducted as part of an undergoing national
research project, whose goal is to develop techniques of
statistical machine translation based on syntax and to implement a
translation service for Web content pertaining to the Italian culture.
The research will be conducted at the Department of Informatics.
A state of the art dependency parser, as well as a full linguistic processing pipeline,
developed by our team will be exploited.
The successful candidates will have a strong background in computer
science and knowledge of statistical machine learning techniques,
with emphasis on text and natural language analysis.
They are expected to provide leadership on technical issues and well as
to contribute to the development of object oriented applications.
Skills and Experience:
- A background in Computer Science with specialization in Computational
Linguistics or Natural Language Processing
- Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python
- Expert-level understanding of statistical machine learning techniques
as applied to machine translation
Education:
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Age: younger than 32 year.
Duration: 26 months.
Salary: gross 1600 Euro/month.
