<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">The 27th edition of the Annual Conference of the
Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (SEPLN) will take place in the
University of Huelva on September 5, 6 and 7, 2011. We also expect to organize
associated workshops on 7 September 2011.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">The huge amount of information available in
digital format and in different languages demands systems that enable us to
access this vast library in an increasingly more structured way. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">In this same area, there is a renewed interest in
improving information accessibility and information exploitation in multilingual
environments. Many of the formal foundations for dealing appropriately with
these necessities have been, and are still being established in the area of
Natural Language Processing and its many branches: Information extraction and
retrieval, Questions answering systems, Machine translation, Automatic analysis
of textual content, Text summarization, Text generation, and Speech recognition
and synthesis.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">The aim of the conference is to provide a forum
for discussion and communication where the latest research work and developments
in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) can be presented by scientific
and business communities. The conference also aims at exposing new possibilities
of real applications and R&D projects in this field.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">Moreover, as in previous editions, there is the
intention of identifying future guidelines or paths for basic research and
foreseen software applications, in order to compare them against the market
needs. Finally, the conference intends to be an appropriate forum in helping new

application-oriented proposals related to NLP.<BR>The proposals must include the
following sections:<BR>* A title of the communication.<BR>* The complete names
of the authors, their affiliations, address, and e-mail (anonymous in the
submitted proposal).<BR>* An abstract in English and Spanish (maximum 150
words), including a list of keywords or related topics.<BR>* The proposal can be
written and presented in Spanish or English, and its overall maximum length will
be 8 pages, excluding references, which can take up an additional whole page at
the most.<BR>* The documents must not include headers or footers.<BR>The papers
proposed will be assessed at least by three reviewers, and can be accepted to be
presented either as posters or as communications, depending on the program
necessities. However, no distinction will be made between communications and
posters in the printed version of the SEPLN journal.</FONT></DIV>

Española para el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural (SEPLN) se celebrará los
días 5, 6 y 7 de septiembre de 2011 en la Universidad de Huelva. Además se prevé
la organización de talleres-workshops satélites el día 7 de septiembre de

<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">La ingente cantidad de información disponible en
formato digital y en las distintas lenguas que hablamos hace imprescindible
disponer de sistemas que permitan acceder a esa enorme biblioteca que es
Internet de manera cada vez más estructurada.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">En este mismo escenario, hay un interés renovado
por la solución de los problemas de accesibilidad a la información y de mejora
de explotación de la misma en entornos multilingües. Muchas de las bases
formales para abordar adecuadamente estas necesidades han sido y siguen siendo
establecidas en el marco del procesamiento del lenguaje natural y de sus
múltiples vertientes: Extracción y recuperación de información, Sistemas de
búsqueda de respuestas, Traducción automática, Análisis automático del contenido
textual, Resumen automático, Generación textual y Reconocimiento y síntesis de
voz.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">El objetivo principal del congreso es ofrecer un
foro para presentar las últimas investigaciones y desarrollos en el ámbito de
trabajo del Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural (PLN) tanto a la comunidad
científica como a las empresas del sector. También se pretende mostrar las
posibilidades reales de aplicación y conocer nuevos proyectos I+D en este
campo.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">Se aceptan artículos de carácter teórico o
experimental relacionados con el campo del Procesamiento del Lenguaje
Natural.<BR>Las propuestas contendrán los siguientes apartados:<BR>* El título
del artículo.<BR>* Los nombres de los autores, afiliaciones, direcciones
postales y electrónicas (anónimo en la propuesta enviada).<BR>* Un resumen
bilingüe (inglés y español) de un máximo de 150 palabras cada uno incluyendo un
listado de temas relacionados o palabras clave.<BR>* El artículo podrá estar en
español o inglés. Su longitud máxima será de 8 páginas, sin contar las
referencias, que podrán ocupar una página adicional como máximo.<BR>* Los
documentos no podrán incluir cabeceras ni pies de página.<BR>Los artículos
propuestos serán examinados por tres revisores como mínimo y podrán ser
aceptados para ser presentados como póster o como presentación oral, dependiendo
de las necesidades del programa. En la edición de la revista SEPLN no habrá
distinción entre artículos y pósters.</FONT></DIV>

animan a los participantes a presentar proyectos I+D y a realizar demostraciones
de sistemas o herramientas informáticas relacionadas con el campo del
PLN.<BR>Para las presentaciones de proyectos se debe incluir la siguiente
información:<BR>* Título del proyecto.<BR>* Nombre, afiliación, dirección,
e-mail y teléfono del director del proyecto.<BR>* Patrocinadores.<BR>* Grupos
participantes en el proyecto.<BR>* Resumen con un máximo de dos
páginas.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">En las propuestas para demostraciones, se debe
incluir la siguiente información:<BR>* Título de la demostración.<BR>* Nombre,

máximo de dos páginas.<BR>* Estimación de tiempo que dura la demostración del

<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">Se invita a la proposición de talleres
(workshops), encuentros en pequeño grupo que reúnan a investigadores,
estudiantes y/o profesionales, para compartir información, experiencia y
habilidades sobre avances tecnológicos o profesionales significativos que
marquen direcciones para futuras investigaciones.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New"></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">Las propuestas de nuevos talleres-workshop se
dirigirán por e-mail a Manuel de la Villa (</FONT><A

indicando la siguiente información:<BR>* Título del taller<BR>* Nombre,
afiliación, dirección, e-mail y teléfono del responsable del taller,
interlocutor primario y válido frente al comité organizador<BR>* Nombre,
afiliación y e-mail de restantes co-organizadores, si los hubiere.<BR>* Resumen
del taller, incluyendo objetivos, temas a tratar, justificación de su necesidad,
metodología de desarrollo, número mínimo y máximo de participantes.<BR>*
Especiales necesidades audiovisuales, informáticas o de disposición de la
sala.<BR>* Indicar si ha realizado antes el taller que está proponiendo, dónde,
y cuántas personas asistieron. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Courier New">El Comité Científico tomará la decisión final con
respecto a la aceptación y programación de todos los talleres.</FONT></DIV>

recientes en cualquier tema del ámbito del procesamiento del lenguaje natural.
Las propuestas deben enviarse por correo electrónico a </FONT><A

propuestas deben incluir la siguiente información: título y breve explicación de
los objetivos del tutorial, relevancia para la comunidad del ámbito del PLN,
resumen de los contenidos que deben cubrirse en una sesión de dos horas e
información de contacto y un breve CV de los ponentes del tutorial.</FONT></DIV>
