This is very sad news. Only a few days ago I thought about my meeting

with Roberto Busa when he got the first Busa Prize in 1998 in

Debrecen.<br><br>

Let's strive to get so old and to do, next to the other things we have

and want to do in our lives, at least part of what he has done for the

Humanities<br><br>

9 August at the age of 97.<br>

He gave his last talk at a conference less than 2 years ago (ninth

edition of the Treebanks and Linguistic Theories Workshop,

Milan).<br><br>

I feel so lucky for having met him in my life and for working every day

on the "Index Thomisticus".<br>

The field of corpus and computational linguistics lost one of his

pioneers. We will all miss him so much.<br><br>
