Dear Kirsten,

I'd suggest to have a look at the WOLD Loanword database, in particular the Introductory stuff:

http://wold.livingsources.org/about/book
Dear all,

I am currently writing my theses on “The relationship between pronunciation and spelling of loanwords in the Late Modern English Period”. I am still in an early stage (reading), and I was wondering if you could recommend any readings for the definition and classification of loanwords. As well as any book/paper dealing with loanwords in English in the Late Modern English period.

Thank you very much in advance,
Best regards,
Úrsula.
