<p>The successful candidate should have an excellent track
record in computational linguistics. This is a <i>permanent
position</i> at the Faculty of Science with a probation
period of two years. Preferred starting date: September 1st
2012 (but no later than January 2013).</p>

</h3>
<ul>
<li>Conducting research independently in Computational Linguistics
/ Natural Language Processing, resulting in contributions to
leading international publications (60%);</li>
<li>teaching (initially in English) and developing teaching
activities in the field of computational linguistics (40%). ILLC
expects its tenured staff to acquire sufficient fluency in the
Dutch language within two years of tenured appointment;</li>
<li>(co-)supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses;</li>
<li>(co-)supervising PhD candidates;</li>
<li>making a contribution to raising contract and indirect
funding.</li>

<h3 class="paragraphheader"><a name="p3"></a>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Relevant PhD degree;</li>
<li>experience in research and excellent research skills,
evidenced by publications in renowned international
professional conferences and journals;</li>
<li>teaching experience at university level and demonstrable
didactic abilities and / or training. All permanent staff
are required to have a University teaching qualification
(the so-called BasisKwalificatie Onderwijs, BKO). If the
successful candidate does not yet have this qualification,
it should be obtained during the probation period;</li>
<li>team spirit and a strong affinity with ILLC’s
multi-disciplinary environment.</li>

<p>The assistant professorship is a permanent position, with a
two-year probation period. The gross monthly salary will range
between € 2379 and € 4970 per month (salary scales 10 to 12)
depending on previous experience.</p>
