<p class="MsoNormal" style>Translating and the Computer (TC) is a 
conference which focuses on the user aspects of translation and 
translation-related software. It serves as a unique and beneficial 
meeting
 point for a wide audience including translators from large 
multinational institutions such as the EU and UN, from translation 
agencies across the world but also freelance translators, tools and 
technology developers, language experts, software vendors, business
 managers, researchers and academics. In addition to presentations on 
current issues of translation and translation technology, the conference
 features panel and user group discussions on topics of interest to the 
conference audience.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style>This call for papers invites extended 
abstracts of papers to be presented at the conference. The papers (and 
presentations) should focus on the user aspects of translation and 
translation
 technology and/or on a range of topics which are being discussed within
 the translation industry. Presentations accompanied by demonstrations 
are especially welcome.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style><b>SUBMISSION GUIDELINES</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style><br>
Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of a maximum of 750 
words of the paper they would like to present, together with a short 
200-word abstract and short biography. While the extended abstract is 
limited to 750 words (longer papers will not be
 considered), it should provide sufficient information to allow 
evaluation of the submission by the committee. The short abstracts of 
accepted papers will be used for online programme and event advertising.

<p class="MsoNormal" style>Abstracts should be sent by Email by the 25nd June 2012 to
<a href="mailto:submissions@aslib.com" target="_blank"><span style="color:windowtext">submissions@aslib.com</span></a>. 
</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style>The authors of abstracts will be notified 
of acceptance or rejection of their submissions by 23 July 2012. 
Speakers' final presentations must be submitted by 12 November 2009.

Speakers will be required to register for the conference and pay a reduced registration fee of £220.00.
