The Department for Computational Linguistics of the<br>Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet Duesseldorf, Germany (Chair of Computational<br>Linguistics: Prof. Dr. Laura Kallmeyer) offers a <span>position</span> as<br>wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (TV-L E13 100%) for a postdoc or an<br>
advanced doctoral student.<br><br>The <span>position</span> starts in October 2012. Its duration is limited to two<br>years, maybe with the possibility of an extension. It includes 4 hours<br>of teaching per week in computational linguistics. Teaching is<br>
supposed to be in German, if not immediately, then after a short<br>time. Therefore, if the candidate does not speak German yet, he/she<br>should be willing to learn and practice it.<br><br>The candidate should preferably have some teaching experience and<br>
should be willing to participate in the research activities conducted<br>at the Department for Computational Linguistics. These cover the<br>following areas:<br><br>1. data-driven parsing<br>2. statistical machine translation<br>
3. syntax-semantics interface, in particular (but not limited to)<br> frame-based (i.e., feature-structure-based) semantic composition<br>4. grammar formalisms, in particular (but not limited to) Tree<br> Adjoining Grammars<br>
<br>The Department for Computational Linguistics offers a rich and<br>stimulating research environment: It participates with several<br>projects in the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 991 funded by the<br>DFG, <a href="http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/sfb991/" target="_blank">http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/sfb991/</a>. The CRC is a<br>
large collection of research projects; it focusses on the structure of<br>representations in language, cognition and science with a particular<br>emphasis on frames and on lexical semantics. Besides the CRC projects<br>there is also a project on parsing and machine translation,<br>
