The research group on<br>

<b>"Distributional Approaches to Semantic Relatedness"</b><br>

invites applications for a <b>Post Doc</b> position. The post is
funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG - Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft), through a Heisenberg Fellowship plus
Research Grant. The group is located at the Institute for Natural
Language Processing at the University of Stuttgart in Germany,
headed by Sabine Schulte im Walde.<br>
<br>
The project explores the potential and the limits of
distributional approaches to lexical semantics, focusing on (a)
paradigmatic semantic relations, (b) preposition senses, and (c)
the compositionality of compounds. The work is performed within an
interdisciplinary framework of computational linguistics,
theoretical linguistics, and cognitive linguistics. As extrinsic
evaluation, we apply our models to statistical machine

The successful candidate will have a background in computational
linguistics or similar, with an interest in lexical semantics and
the interdisciplinary nature of the project. Programming skills
and the ability to work in a group are taken for granted. The
candidate should be able to work on German language data.<br>
<br>
The <b>application deadline</b> for the post is <b>10 February
2013</b>. Applications should include a brief motivation letter
including research and teaching interests, a CV, a list of
publications and teaching experience, and up to three references.

or soon thereafter. The project will continue to run until October
2014, with a possible extension of three years. Salary is
