</span>development projects that use scientific principles to create (a) tools to improve the efficiency or quality of the practice of test development or statistical analysis; (b) innovative item types that lend themselves to automated evaluation with NLP
methods; or (c) the evaluation of responses to open-ended test items and (3) development projects that use scientific principles to create new
<span style="letter-spacing:-.15pt">products or product prototypes for assessment and instruction. Major projects may be cross-disciplinary, may have substantial budgets, and are likely to involve the coordination of, and collaboration with many individuals
internally and possibly externally to ETS, may be conducted across several years, and may produce multiple deliverables.
