<span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial"><br></span><div><span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial">Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistical Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning to work with Dr Sebastian Riedel (UCL Computer Science) to develop novel methods and models to extract rich knowledge graphs from web-scale textual data. The project will focus on the intersection of recent developments in relation extraction with Universal Schemas [1] and matrix factorization, compositional semantics and latent (recursive) vector-space embeddings. The associate is expected to publish papers in top venues and to collaborate with other faculty, research associates and students.</span><br>

<span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial">The associate will be part of the newly established UCL Machine Reading lab in the Computer Science department, affiliated with the Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (bringing together CS, the Gatsby unit and Statistics department). He or she will be physically located on the UCL Bloomsbury campus in the heart of London. The position is funded by a Google Focused Research Award [2], and the associate will be able (and encouraged to) collaborate with researchers at Google and visit Google workshops.</span><br>

<span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial"># Key Requirements:</span><br><span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial"><br></span><div><span style="font-size:13px;font-family:Arial">The Research Associate is expected to have a PhD degree and top-tier peer-reviewed publications in statistical natural language processing and/or machine learning. We are particularly looking for experience in information extraction, compositional semantics, large scale matrix factorization, and graphical models. The candidate is also expected to be capable of working under limited supervision, have strong communication and coding skills, and to work in a team.</span><br>
