<div dir="ltr">ACL 2014<br><a href="http://www.cs.jhu.edu/ACL2014/">http://www.cs.jhu.edu/ACL2014/</a><br><br>ACL 2014: Call for Tutorial Proposals<br><br>Proposals are invited for the Tutorial Program of the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2014). The main conference is to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, from June 23rd to June 25th, 2014. The tutorials are scheduled for Sunday, June 22nd.<br>
<br>ACL 2014 seeks proposals for tutorials on all topics of computational linguistics, broadly conceived to include areas such as cognitive modeling of language processing and psycholinguistics, dialogue and interactive systems, discourse, coreference and pragmatics, text mining and information extraction, information retrieval and question answering, language resources, lexical semantics and ontologies, machine translation, multilinguality, NLP applications, NLP for social media, semantic processing, sentiment analysis, opinion mining, text classification, spoken language processing, summarization and generation, syntax and parsing, tagging and chunking, word segmentation, and evaluation methods. Especially encouraged are tutorials that educate the community about advancements in neighboring research areas such as machine learning, knowledge mining, information retrieval, speech processing, relevant other areas of artificial intelligence and linguistics, as well as applications of NLP to new domains or problems.<br>
<br>Information on the payment for tutorial instructors can be found in the ACL Tutorial Teacher Payment Policy [1]. Please note: remuneration for Tutorial presenters is fixed according to the above policy and does not cover registration fees for the main conference.<br>
<br><br>SUBMISSION DETAILS<br><br>Proposals for tutorials should contain:<br><br>1. A title and brief description of the tutorial content and its relevance to the ACL community (not more than 2 pages).<br><br>2. A brief outline of the tutorial structure showing that the tutorial's core content can be covered in a three-hour slot (including a coffee break). In exceptional cases six-hour tutorial slots are available as well.<br>
<br>3. The names, affiliations, email addresses and websites of the tutorial instructors, including a one-paragraph statement of their research interests and areas of expertise.<br><br>4. A list of previous venues and approximate audience sizes, if the same or a similar tutorial has been given elsewhere; otherwise an estimate of the audience size.<br>
<br>5. A description of special requirements for technical equipment (e.g., internet access).<br><br>Submission will be by email. Please send your submission to liuyang2011 @ tsinghua dot edu seconddot cn . You will receive a confirmation of your submission within 72 hours. In case of technical problems, if you do not receive a confirmation of your submission within 72 hours, please contact both chairs by email. The submission deadline is Friday, January 24th, 2014.<br>
<br><br>TUTORIAL SPEAKER RESPONSIBILITIES<br><br>Accepted tutorial speakers will be notified by Friday, February 28, 2014, and must then provide abstracts of their tutorials for inclusion in the conference registration material by Friday, March 28, 2014. The description should be in two formats: an ASCII version that can be included in email announcements and published on the conference website, and a PDF version for inclusion in the electronic proceedings (detailed instructions will be provided). Tutorial speakers must provide tutorial materials, at least containing copies of the course slides as well as a bibliography for the material covered in the tutorial, by Friday, April 25, 2014.<br>
