CorpusLab, one of three research laboratories set up as part of the URPP
(alongside the VideoLab and the GISLab). Additionally to excellent dissertation
research, the successful candidate will also assist in delivering support to
members of the URPP in the area of corpus / computational linguistics. The PhD
candidate will also be a member of a larger research group that focuses on

motivated original thinker with a desire to develop a career in research. In

Master’s level degree in linguistics and/or computational linguistics. Basic programming
skills, as well as a willingness to develop these further, are a prerequisite. Familiarity
with corpus linguistic tools is desirable. Experience with building large text
databases with web interfaces as well as additional experience with annotation
tools and normalization of non-standard data are a plus. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; ">Apart from English, applicants must
have a good command of German or be ready to acquire this during the first six
